The Star Ferry Company has been taking passengers across Victoria Harbor between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon since 1888. While the MRT can get you from one side of the city to the other much faster, a trip on the iconic ferry is one of my favorite experiences in Hong Kong, and a way to connect to a piece of the city’s history.

Hong Kong’s Most Beautiful Temple: Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Garden
Chi Lin Nunnery looks like it comes out of China’s imperial past. The temple was designed in the architectural style of the Tang Dynasty. There many Buddhist temples all throughout Hong Kong, but the Chi Lin Nunnery is the most beautiful one.
