This weekend we take a trip to Chantaburi, Thailand. Chantaburi is a small town in the east of Thailand, not far from the border with Cambodia.

We spend a week in Cambodia, braving monkeys, jellyfish, rove beetles, and Typhoon Chaba! Our journey begins in Siem Reap, before taking us to the far south, where we rough it on a jungle island. Finally, we arrive in Phnom Penh for a much-needed cup of tea.

Nine is a lucky number in Thailand. The Thai word for nine, “gao”, sounds like the verb for “to take a step forward”. It is also the regnal number of the beloved late King.
If you can visit and pray at nine temples in one day, it is said that your wish will come true!
